Lead Application Developer role in a Cape Town-based government setting. You will helm diverse technical teams, translate user requirements into the design and development of customised applications, and own the build from specification to production in an agile environment.

You will lead, code, and coordinate plans while enforcing SDLC/ALM standards and delivering eLearning solutions to train and support users.

Competenze

• A tertiary IT/CS qualification or related technical certification.
• At least 10 years as an application developer.
• 5+ years leading a development team.

This ishands-on leadership. You will still open the editor. You will also set thestandard, unblock the room, and turn a requirement into something people canactually use.

The Role:

You will managediverse technical teams responsible for translating user requirements into thedesign and development of customised applications in an agile environment. Fromspecification to prototype to production, the build is yours to own — includingeLearning solutions that train and support the people who use them.

What you will do:

• Managediverse technical teams that translate user requirements into the design anddevelopment of customised applications in an agile environment.
• Design,develop and deploy programs from program specifications.
• Constructand implement application programs.
• Constructand develop programs, including coding, testing and debugging.
• Ensuredocumentation of code and classes.
• Coordinateapplication plans with the development team or the government entity.
• Adhereto the government entity’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) andApplication Lifecycle Management (ALM) methodologies and processes.
• Design,develop and deploy eLearning solutions that meet the government entity’s needsand optimise efficacy through training and support.

Requirements

What you bring:

Minimum Qualification and competencies:

• Atertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering and/orInformation Systems and/or Information Technology, and/or a related technicalcertification in the IT field.
• Aminimum of 10 years’ experience as an application developer working with:
• ASP.NET,Web Forms, MVC 5 and C#
• HTMLand CSS
• MicrosoftSQL Server and stored procedures
• Aminimum of 5 years’ experience managing a development team, providing guidanceand oversight to development teams.
• Proficiencyin source code management applications.
