Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily laundry operation.
• Ensure sufficient washing and ironing is completed daily to meet housekeeping requirements.
• Maintain and monitor linen and laundry stock levels.
• Ensure linen is cleaned, treated and prepared to standard, including stain removal.
• Inspect linen and soft furnishings; report damaged items.
• Keep laundry areas, storerooms and staff facilities clean and hygienic.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and report faults promptly.
• Maintain safety equipment and serviceability of gear.
• Use laundry chemicals correctly per company specs.
• Clean and store equipment after use.
• Provide back-up support to the housekeeping team.
• Assist with resolving staff concerns and grievances.
• Complete duties efficiently within timeframes.

We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Laundry Supervisor to join our Resorts team. The successful candidate will oversee the daily laundry operation, ensuring that all resort linen is washed, dried and ironed to the required company standards and that sufficient clean linen is available to support the housekeeping team.

This role requires a reliable, organised and detail‑oriented individual who can work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and linen care.

Key Responsibility

• Supervise and manage the daily laundry operation.
• Ensure sufficient washing and ironing is completed each day to meet housekeeping requirements.
• Maintain and monitor linen and laundry stock levels.
• Ensure linen is cleaned, treated and prepared to the required standard, including effective stain removal.
• Inspect linen and soft furnishings and report damaged items to management.
• Ensure laundry areas, storerooms and staff facilities are kept clean, tidy and hygienic.
• Operate laundry equipment correctly and safely and report any faults or maintenance issues immediately.
• Ensure laundry equipment and relevant safety equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
• Use laundry chemicals correctly and in accordance with company specifications.
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned after use and stored appropriately.
• Provide back‑up support to the housekeeping team when required.
• Assist with resolving laundry and housekeeping staff concerns and grievances.
• Complete all allocated duties efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Adhere to all company policies, health and safety requirements and operational standards.

Minimum Qualifications And Experience

• 3–5 years’ experience in a laundry environment, preferably within a hotel, resort or hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of commercial laundry operations and linen care.
• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

• Proficiency in both English and isiZulu is essential.
