Job summary

MyTalent Software is seeking a skilled Laravel Developer in Cape Town to join our development team. You will contribute to building and maintaining high-quality web applications using Laravel, focusing on clean, secure code and scalable architecture.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of PHP/Laravel experience, strong OOP fundamentals, and hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases. Collaboration with UI/UX designers and frontend developers is essential for delivering robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of PHP development experience with Laravel.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript; Vue.js/React.js a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using Laravel.
• Integrate with APIs and external services.
• Optimize performance, scalability and responsiveness of apps.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, UX/UI designers and teammates.
• Write clean, secure, test-driven, maintainable code.
• Perform peer code reviews and participate in team discussions.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and new technologies.
