Job summary

Multiform Human Development (Pty) Ltd. seeks a Laboratory Manager / Quality Manager to oversee laboratory operations, data interpretation and the quality management system.

This hands-on leadership role requires practical bench testing, staff supervision and continual improvement across ISO/IEC 17025 and ISTA-aligned processes. You will manage daily workloads, ensure turnaround times, coordinate audits and maintain compliance with health, safety and confidentiality standards while reporting to

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD with minimum 4 years' relevant experience in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISTA requirements is essential.
• Hands-on bench experience with laboratory testing and data interpretation.
• Strong leadership, planning and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily laboratory operations, workloads and resources to meet turnaround times.
• Supervise and develop laboratory staff, ensuring competency and authorization for activities.
• Perform assigned laboratory testing and interpret data within competence and authority.
• Oversee release of results and investigate failed controls or unusual results before release.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system in line with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISTA requirements.
• Coordinate internal audits, accreditation assessments, proficiency testing and corrective actions.
• Ensure document control, sample traceability and accurate records.
