Job summary

SGS SA in Cape Town seeks an Operations Manager to oversee technical control, method development and signatory readiness for LC/GC analyses and related workflows. You will ensure tests follow validated methods and SANAS expectations while maintaining complete, traceable records and quality-control performance.

You will mentor analysts, support audits, and drive continuous improvement in analytical science within the lab’s accreditation scope.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science or related field.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 and SANAS requirements is advantageous.
• Code 8 driver’s license is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for LC/GC and related workflows.
• Ensure testing aligns with validated methods and accreditation scope.
• Lead method development, validation and documentation.
• Mentor analysts toward technical signatory status.
• Support quality audits, investigations and CAPAs.
