Placements24 seeks a Commercial Kitchen Hygiene Specialist to ensure immaculate cleanliness and strict food safety in Mossel Bay kitchens. You will lead sanitation efforts, train staff, and enforce HACCP-driven processes across storage, equipment, and surfaces.

The role requires deep cleaning expertise, pest-control coordination, and meticulous record-keeping to meet health codes. Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and a valid food handler permit are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial kitchen cleaning, food safety, or a related hygiene role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, surfaces, and storage areas.
• Implement and monitor food safety management systems (HACCP) within the kitchen.
• Develop and execute pest control strategies in collaboration with external services.
• Train kitchen staff on hygiene procedures, including handwashing, sanitation, and waste disposal.
• Maintain records of cleaning schedules and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations for food establishments.
• Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Inspect incoming food deliveries for hygiene adherence.
• Respond to sanitation emergencies or contamination concerns.
• Champion a culture of cleanliness and food safety in Mossel Bay kitchens.
