Job summary

Kabstrading Co in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks. You will help wash, chop, portion ingredients and keep workspaces clean.

You will also assist with dishwashing, stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and helping during service while following food safety rules and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, and floors.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, ensuring they are clean and properly stored.
• Manage kitchen inventory by assisting with stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and organizing storage areas.
• Support the kitchen team during service by performing various tasks as directed by chefs.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations and company policies.
