Kabstrading Co in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a kitchen cook to manage daily prep, cook meals to defined temperatures, and assist with large banquet and conference lunches. You will receive deliveries, maintain cleanliness, and train junior staff to ensure consistent plating and presentation.

Applicants should be comfortable working in heat, standing for long shifts, and capable of weekend, holiday, and evening hours as required. The role is on-site and fast-paced, supporting a busy kitchen team.

• Clean down your section, deep-clean the fryer and scrub the extractor filters.
• Cook steaks, burgers and grills to the temperature on the docket.
• Receive deliveries, check weights and reject short-dated produce.
• Cook for banquets and conference lunches of 100 to 400 guests.
• Train the kitchen assistants on knife safety and prep standards.
• Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
