Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer (MLOps) in Kimberley, South Africa. You will bridge model development and production, designing pipelines for training, deployment, monitoring, and management of ML systems.

Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers, implement CI/CD and IaC, containerize with Docker/Kubernetes, and work with AWS/Azure/GCP ML services to ensure scalable, secure AI production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in software engineering with at least 2 years in MLOps or ML infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML services.
• Strong containerization knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and data pipelines (Airflow).
• Excellent problem solving and teamwork abilities.
• On-site work eligibility in Kimberley, Northern Cape, SA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust MLOps pipelines for automated model training, validation, and deployment.
• Implement model monitoring, performance tracking, and anomaly detection in production.
• Build and manage infrastructure for ML model serving and inference.
• Collaborate with data scientists to optimize models for production environments.
• Automate deployment processes using CI/CD tools and best practices.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of AI production systems.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for ML infrastructure.
• Design and implement data pipelines supporting ML workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production ML systems.
• Stay updated on emerging MLOps tools and techniques.
