Solenis in Durban, South Africa, is seeking a field sales professional to drive regional sales targets through retailer engagement and active merchandising. You will manage calls, promotions, stock availability, and store layouts while leveraging Salesforce to track performance and push growth.
The role emphasizes relationship building, quick problem resolution, and effective planogram execution to maximize in-store sales and ROI.
Achieve Monthly Sales Budgets Understand and communicate sales targets to merchandiser & Field Marketers.
Increase volumes in store to ensure the achievement of the region’s sales budget.
Actively seek new business opportunities.
Maintain a regular customer call route as per pre-determined route list.
Consistent quality checks respond to poor quality or damaged stock.
Ensure stock rotation.
Ensure stock pressure is applied.
Ensure forward share reflects ROS.
Ensure out of stocks are limited.
Optimize stock levels, monitor slow/fast sellers and take appropriate action.
Building and maintaining relationships with customers at all levels.
Drive ad-hoc promotions to increase sales within parameters as set out by Regional Sales Manager.
Negotiations of additional display space and hands on activity with erecting safe displays.
Monitor sales daily with the use of Salesforce.com and other tools.
Minimize credit notes.
Ensure correct product availability: Ensure that all ranged products are available on shelf.
Communicate any opportunities to maximise sales and growth in store.
Ensure that approved planograms and category flows are implemented and maintained.
Communicate all Competitor non-conformance to the approved layout to Regional Manager.
Provide feedback to Key Accounts with regards to forward share changes.
Ensure that order quantities are optimal to support the approved shelf layouts and promotional activity.
Price Management Monitoring of recommended selling pricing.
Investigating identified discrepancies.
Report any deviations to the Regional Manager as soon as noted.
Check PI labels and replace any outdated / missing ones with new store generated labels at each call Promotional Activity at Store level Manage promotional activity and facilitate the implementation of agreed promotion grids.
Ensure sufficient stock has been ordered within required timeframes and ensure POS to stores.
Reporting any successes and concerns to Management.
Negotiate additional store level promotional activities, making creative use of allocated resources, whilst operating within defined parameters Trade Responsible Care (TRC) Comply to all safety rules and safe job practices.
Report all accidents/incidents/injuries immediately to his/her supervisor, no matter how small.
Attend and participate in safety (RC) meetings.
Report all unsafe conditions to his/her Supervisor.
Keep his / her work area clean and neat (Maintain good housekeeping standards).
Ensure all Trade Responsible Care training is done with all customers and completed within specified dates.
Ensure all necessary documentation is submitted to management via the required systems.
Ensure daily compliance with TRC principles, communicating deviations to Management as/when they occur.
CRM Program Track all daily activities on Salesforce.com providing information as set out by RSM within time frame set.
Maintain customer data base – i.e., names, contact details.
New Store openings Build relationship with Store Manager and personnel.
Ensure all TRC training and relevant tools associated has been implemented before the opening of the store.
Request and implement agreed planogram.
Ensure that all stock issues are resolved.
Management of Merchandising Staff Ensure accurate in-store administration.
Manage performance of Merchandisers.
Ensure adherence to dress code.
Complete monthly Casual Staff time sheets and submit to Management by set cut off time.
Perform other all / any other duties as assigned.
