Job summary

The Recruitment Pig is offering an entry-level consulting engineering drafting position in Pretoria, South Africa. You will be mentored while applying your technical training to real-world structural drawings, delivering accurate plans quickly to meet client expectations.

Prepare 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, read architectural drawings, and draft reinforced concrete framing plans, steel layout details, and baseplates under guidance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Draughting or Civil Engineering required.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency.
• Foundational understanding of structural concrete, steelwork, and drawing standards.
• No prior work experience required; ideal for a motivated graduate.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D AutoCAD structural drawings.
• Read and interpret architectural drawings under supervision.
• Draft reinforced concrete framing plans, sections, and bar bending schedules.
• Create basic structural steel layout details, including portal frames, connections and baseplates.
• Update drawings per engineers' markup and maintain drawing registers and revision records.
• Draft professional emails to communicate with project team members.
