Placements24 is seeking a Junior Solar PV Installer to join our team in Soweto. This entry-level position offers hands-on training in installing solar panels and associated electrical components on residential and commercial rooftops, while learning from experienced technicians.

You will assist with rooftop installations, safety procedures, and system connections, contributing to sustainable energy projects in the community and gaining valuable skills in the growing solar industry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and tools is beneficial.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in solar installation and electrical work.
• Good physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe installation of solar panels, mounting systems, and electrical wiring on rooftops.
• Learn and apply best practices for securing solar arrays and ensuring weatherproofing of roof penetrations.
• Help with the connection of solar systems to inverters and the main electrical panel.
• Perform site assessments and assist in planning installation layouts under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly handled.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including those related to electrical work and working at heights.
