Job summary

VKB Agriculture is seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the agricultural hub of South Africa. The role offers exposure to diverse construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects from planning to close-out.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Quantity Surveying (or Honours) and 1-2 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using WinQS and DimensionX. Travel may be required.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor who wants to gain hands‑on experience across a diverse portfolio of property development, construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects. What You'll Do

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with Regional Property Managers and service providers to ensure projects are planned, costed, managed, and delivered efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction and maintenance projects
• Compiling Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
• Developing scopes of work and tender documentation
• Managing tender administration processes
• Evaluating quotations and contractor submissions
• Assisting with contractor appointment processes
• Tracking project costs and preparing project reports
• Assisting with maintenance planning and property-related initiatives
• Compiling final accounts and project close‑out documentation
• Building strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

• BSc Quantity Surveying (4-year degree) or Honours Degree

• Strong understanding of building and construction practices
• Working knowledge of SANS 10400 regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and administrative skills
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
