Job summary

RPO Recruitment’s client, a dynamic property development company based in Cape Town, is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join their growing team. You will assist in delivering large-scale residential developments from planning through to handover, working closely with consultants, contractors and stakeholders.

The role offers exposure to multiple project phases, a supportive environment, and opportunities to contribute to project governance, documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in project management.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and delivery stages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing large-scale residential housing developments from town planning and approvals through to project completion
• Support the coordination of all project phases, ensuring alignment with approved scope, programme, and budget
• Monitor project progress and assist in driving timely delivery of key milestones
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
• Help identify, escalation, and resolve project challenges to minimise delays and disruptions
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and administrative tracking
• Support overall project governance and compliance requirements

Requirements

• BSc Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related built environment qualification
• 1–2 years’ experience in project management, preferably within large-scale development projects
• Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery stages
• Strong coordination and organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Effective stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail with strong administrative capability
• Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines
• Strong problem-solving ability, particularly under pressure
