Job summary

Takealot.com is seeking a Junior Product Manager for the Marketplace team in Cape Town. You will own the technical product roadmap, align with merchant division objectives and drive initiatives that boost commercial outcomes.

You will work with engineers, QA, and UX to translate business needs into technical requirements, measure success by key metrics, and manage end-to-end delivery from planning to launch in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field with 3+ years in product management/owner or business analysis.
• Equivalent experience of at least 6 years if no degree, in product management/owner or business analysis.
• Experience in an agile/iterative project management environment is beneficial.
• Experience in an e-commerce environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Gain a deep understanding of the Marketplace objectives, processes, tools and benchmarks.
• Define and maintain a Product Roadmap to support technical developments for the Marketplace division.
• Measure success via relevant metrics and take ownership to improve them.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical IT user stories and project specs.
• End-to-end project management of technical projects from design through release and production launch.
• Manage stakeholder communications and backlog prioritisation with the engineering team.
