Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Process Chemical Engineer intern to join their Mossel Bay team. The role focuses on hands-on experience in chemical process design, analysis, and optimization within an industrial setting.

You will work under experienced engineers, supporting design, data analysis, site visits, and documentation, while learning safety and environmental guidelines. This internship targets recent graduates eager to start a chemical engineering career in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Strong foundational knowledge in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Familiarity with process simulation software is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn with a proactive attitude toward new challenges.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in process design and P&ID development.
• Conduct process data analysis, performance monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
• Participate in site visits and operational reviews to gain practical plant experience.
• Support the implementation of process improvements and optimization projects.
• Compile technical documentation for project teams.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
