Job summary

The Product & Process Implementation (PPI) Technologist at McCormick & Company, Incorporated, based in Midrand, South Africa, joins the development team with close links to the UK PPI group to implement new product designs.

The role sits between New Product Development and Manufacturing, focusing on testing during development, launching seasonings in the SA dry factory, and coordinating with operations and quality to ensure successful implementation and first-time readiness.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B-Tech in Food Tech or related field required.
• 1–3 years in Quality/Technical/NPD/Production/Process roles.
• Cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead co-ordination of small trial blends and arrange trials for sampling.
• Conduct functionality testing locally and coordinate samples for UK/USA teams.
• Understand capability requirements (e.g., 1.33) and drive understanding.
• Maintain functionality database and write performance reports.
• Support seasoning implementation for Midrand site, including SAP & labeling checks.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA and R&D to ensure right-first-time execution.
