Job summary

Golden Yolk is seeking a Junior Farm Manager to join our large layer poultry farm with positions in Patterson, Paarl and Bloemfontein. The role focuses on assisting in farming activities, managing poultry houses and implementing bio-security measures, with a strong emphasis on planning and leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant diploma or degree (beneficial), and prior exposure to agriculture or layer poultry environments is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification will be beneficial.
• Experience in agriculture is advantageous.
• Exposure to layer poultry production is beneficial.
• Strong organisation and planning abilities.
• Problem solving and decision making skills.
• Interpersonal and administrative competence.
• Proficiency with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of layer poultry farming and all relevant farming activities.
• Assist in the management of poultry houses.
• Personnel management.
• Ensure that bio-security measures are adhered to.
• Assist with production planning.
• Assist with stock management and purchases.
• Administration of checklists and farming operations.
• Assist with maintenance and inventory management of equipment, vehicles and tools.
