Job summary

Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies site in Johannesburg-Alrode, Gauteng is seeking a Production Engineering professional. The role focuses on planning and implementing maintenance and optimization measures to improve energy efficiency, with supervision of line technicians and ongoing technical guidance to the production team.

Ideal candidates hold a B.Eng or BSc in Electrical engineering with at least 2 years in manufacturing, plus familiarity with Siemens PLCs and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: B.Eng degree / BSc degree Electrical.
• Area of specialization: Industrial plant maintenance.
• 2+ years of work experience in manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements maintenance and optimization measures.
• Provides technical supervision of line technicians and drives continuous energy optimization in production.
• Offers technical consultancy to production teams.
• Develops employees through regular trainings and briefings.
• Monitors KPIs for engineering and maintenance processes.
• Familiar with PLC integration and Siemens control systems and fault finding.
• Conducts regular tests on electrical systems, equipment and machinery to ensure proper operation.

What you´ll do

• Plans and implements maintenance and optimization measures
• Performs technical supervision of line technicians Is responsible for continuous improvement of energy consumption in the production
• Does technical consulting of the production
• Develops employees with regular trainings and briefing
• Monitors KPIs for engineering & maintenance processes
• Must be conversant and familiar with PLC integration and control(siemens) as well as fault finding
• Conduct regular tests on electrical systems, equipment and machinery to ensure they are operating properly.
