Placements24 is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support our Port Elizabeth manufacturing operations. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience working with experienced engineers and production teams to optimize processes, troubleshoot equipment, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
You will gain exposure to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma basics, assist in data analysis, and prepare technical reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience or internships in manufacturing/engineering.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Strong desire to learn with good problem-solving and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing manufacturing process improvements.
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of production machinery.
- Conduct performance tests and data analysis for optimization.
- Collaborate with quality control to meet product/process standards.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Learn lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
