Job summary

Ideal candidates hold a BCom Accounting or similar qualification with 1-2 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Xero; sharp attention to detail and proactive communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or similar qualification.
• 1-2 years accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in a commercial environment preferred.
• Candidates straight out of audit will not be considered.
• Exposure to management accounting advantageous.
• Experience with Xero beneficial.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial and management reporting.
• Process invoices and load supplier bills onto Xero.
• Manage monthly invoicing and accounts receivable collections.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and budget vs actual reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Handle VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Coordinate payment processing and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with auditors and provide financial information to stakeholders.
• Support project accounting and inventory management.
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects as required.
