About the Role

Our client, a dynamic financial services group, is seeking a meticulous and diligent Junior Financial Accountant to join their esteemed team. This role, situated in the bustling financial district of Sandton, Gauteng , is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in financial accounting. You will be involved in a wide range of accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, financial statement preparation, and assisting with audits. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy. You will work closely with experienced finance professionals, gaining invaluable insights and contributing to the financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Process expense reports and manage petty cash.
• Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and controls.
• Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be based in or willing to commute to Sandton, Gauteng .
