Job summary

EnableSA Recruitment seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support routine inspections, preventive maintenance and minor repairs on factory machinery. You will assist with fabrication, welding and basic workshop tasks while upholding safety and housekeeping standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in manufacturing/maintenance, basic drawing reading skills and a working knowledge of MS Office. A valid driver's license is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Technical school qualification or equivalent advantageous.
• 1–3 years' experience in a manufacturing, production or maintenance environment advantageous.
• Basic welding and steel fabrication experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and machinery.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics advantageous.
• Basic electrical maintenance and fault-finding advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.
• Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Valid driver's licence advantageous.
• Valid forklift licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections on machinery and equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist with minor machine repairs and breakdowns.
• Report equipment faults and maintenance concerns.
• Assist with basic fabrication, welding and workshop tasks.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in the workshop and maintenance areas.
• Complete maintenance checklists and basic documentation.
• Assist with machinery installations and maintenance projects as required.
• Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with basic welding, cutting and grinding activities under supervision.
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of machine guards, frames and related equipment.
• Safely use maintenance and workshop tools and equipment.
• Support senior maintenance personnel with fabrication and workshop tasks as required.
• Assist with the preparation of materials and components for maintenance and repair work.
• Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to support daily operational requirements
