Job summary

ZealHR is assisting a renewable energy and infrastructure company in Bellville to recruit a Junior Legal Advisor. The role focuses on broad corporate and commercial exposure, mentorship, and hands‑on experience in contracting, governance, and project work.

You will work closely with the Head of Legal and senior lawyers to build experience across contracts, transactions, and risk management while developing commercially mindful legal solutions.

Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Admitted Attorney in South Africa.
• 1–3 years post‑articles experience within a reputable law firm and/or in‑house legal environment.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and reviewing corporate and commercial agreements.
• Sound knowledge of South African contract law and the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
• Strong MS Word skills, including tracked changes and document comparison.

Responsibilities

• Draft and assist with reviewing a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements, including services, supply, procurement, outsourcing, licensing, technology, confidentiality, distribution and agency agreements.
• Progressively take ownership of standard‑form and lower‑risk agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare draft legal advice on contractual rights, obligations, liability, warranties, indemnities, termination rights and commercial risk.
• Provide responsive day‑to‑day corporate and commercial legal support across different business functions and entities.
• Identify potential legal risks and accelerate material matters appropriately.
