Job summary

Ozow in Cape Town is seeking a Junior Integration and Enablement Associate to support SME merchants by carrying out basic integrations, monitoring live merchant integrations, and assisting in resolving integration issues.

You will monitor leakage/misconfiguration reports, triage alerts, reconfigure settings, maintain logs, and own end-to-end SME integrations with hands-on troubleshooting and escalation when required.

Qualifications

• IT qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in technical support, integrations, or IT.
• Basic understanding of web technologies such as REST APIs and webhooks.
• Comfort with reporting tools, spreadsheets, and ticketing or alerting systems.
• Awareness of PCI-DSS, KYC, AML and POPIA data protection as they apply to integration work.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing reports for misconfigurations.

Support Ozow’s integration and activation activities for SME merchants. This role focuses on carrying out basic integrations for SME merchants, monitoring the health of live merchant integrations, and on assisting in resolving integration and configuration issues for SME merchants. The role builds a strong foundation in Ozow’s integration processes and technical troubleshooting.

Your role and responsibilities

Monitoring and issue resolution

• Monitor the leakage and misconfiguration report on a regular basis, identifying merchants with integration issues or configuration errors that need attention.
• Check system and integration alerts, triaging issues by urgency and business impact.
• Reconfigure merchant integration settings where misconfigurations or alerts indicate a need for correction, escalating more complex cases to senior team members where required.
• Maintain a log of identified issues, actions taken, and outcomes to support reporting and continuous improvement.
• Own the end-to-end integrations for Ozow’s SME merchant base, ensuring integrations remain healthy, correctly configured, and performing as expected.
• Diagnose and fix integration and configuration issues for SME merchants, acting as a technical support resource throughout the integration and activation process.
• Perform hands-on technical troubleshooting on SME merchant integrations, escalating unresolved or complex issues to the Integration Project Managers or relevant technical teams.

Stakeholder and merchant engagement

• Act as a supporting point of contact for SME merchants and Activations Specialists on integration and configuration queries.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with merchants and internal stakeholders on the status of issues being investigated or resolved.

Continuous improvement and enablement

• Log recurring technical issues and trends identified through leakage and misconfiguration monitoring or alerts with the Integration Project Manager, to inform process and product improvements.
• Keep integration documentation, checklists, and playbooks for SME merchants up to date.
• Build working knowledge of Ozow’s integration processes, tools, and platforms to progress toward more senior integration and enablement responsibilities.

You are an ideal candidate if you have

• A relevant qualification in information technology, computer science, information systems, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in a technical support, integrations, or IT related role.
• Basic understanding of web technologies such as REST APIs and webhooks, with a willingness to develop this further.
• Comfort working with reporting tools, spreadsheets, and ticketing or alerting systems to track and manage issues.
• Basic awareness of compliance and security requirements such as PCI-DSS, KYC and AML, and POPIA data protection obligations as they apply to integration work, with a willingness to build deeper knowledge over time.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing reports and identifying configuration issues.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work supportively alongside Activations Specialists and merchants.
• A proactive and organised approach, able to manage a regular cadence of monitoring and follow-up tasks.
• The ability to pick up new tools, platforms, and technologies quickly.
• Exposure to payments, eCommerce, or financial services (advantageous).
• Exposure to monitoring reports, dashboards, or alerting tools (advantageous).
• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify or Magento, and/or POS, retail, or billing systems (advantageous).
