Placements24 is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our client’s team in Paarl, Western Cape. This entry-level role focuses on roads and transport infrastructure, offering hands-on experience in project design, development, and construction supervision.

You will work under experienced engineers, gaining exposure to a variety of transportation projects and developing practical skills in design, documentation, and site supervision.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Eager to develop a career in roads and transport infrastructure.
• Proficiency with basic CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is essential.
• Knowledge of road design principles and standards would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design of road alignments, intersections, and associated drainage systems.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and technical documentation under supervision.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and assist with quality control measures.
• Support the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and project cost estimates.
• Assist in the coordination with contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Learn and apply relevant engineering software and standards to project tasks.
