Placements24 is seeking a Junior Chemical Engineer to join our Cape Town team. This hybrid role blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility on exciting chemical process projects from design to plant operations.

You should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and up to 3 years’ experience, with strong analytical skills and good communication in a collaborative, safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in chemical engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with chemical engineering principles and basic process design concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with process simulation software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and testing of chemical processes and equipment.
• Support senior engineers in data collection, analysis, and process optimization tasks.
• Conduct literature reviews and research to identify potential process improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders.
• Participate in plant trials and troubleshooting activities, both on-site and remotely.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies throughout project execution.
