Placements24 is seeking a junior buyer to join their growing procurement team, offering a remote working arrangement out of Durban. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about supply chain and purchasing, with the ability to contribute from anywhere in KwaZulu-Natal.

You will assist senior buyers in sourcing goods, creating and managing purchase orders, and maintaining supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong interest in a career within procurement or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior buyers in the procurement process, including sourcing, price comparison, and vendor selection.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Maintain communication with suppliers to track order status and resolve delivery issues.
• Update and maintain procurement records, databases, and files.
• Support the negotiation of prices and terms with suppliers under the guidance of senior staff.
• Conduct basic market research to identify potential new suppliers or cost-saving opportunities.
