Junior Bookkeeper - Multicurrency Invoicing & VAT

Zusammenfassung

Exceed HR and Recruitment is assisting a Stellenbosch-based client to hire a Junior Bookkeeper / Finance Clerk for a permanent, full-time role in the office. You will capture supplier invoices, maintain creditor records, process payments, perform reconciliations, handle EMP201 and VAT tasks, and support month-end close with accuracy and attention to detail in a small team.

You will work with Sage or similar ERP, use Excel for reporting, and help with fixed assets and stock verification.

Qualifikationen

• BCom degree in accounting/finance or related field preferred.
• Approximately 1–3 years accounting experience.
• Experience with Sage or similar ERP accounting systems.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sound understanding of VAT and statutory compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of cross-border accounting advantageous.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, reliable and able to work independently and in a team.

Aufgaben

• Capture supplier invoices and maintain creditor records in multiple currencies.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules and process bank and credit card transactions.
• Perform creditor, bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Resolve supplier account queries and discrepancies.
• Process employee expense claims and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly journals, including PAYE and prepayments.
• Complete EMP201 returns and assist with VAT-related requirements.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
• Assist with fixed asset and stock verification checks.
• Maintain accurate financial records and audit documentation.
• Manage petty cash and provide general financial administrative support.
