Job summary

Network Recruitment in Pretoria, South Africa, is seeking an Automation Engineer to assist with the design, commissioning, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) across projects. You will support integration of HVAC, lighting, energy management, and access control systems, and perform fault-finding on automation and control systems.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years' experience with BMS, exposure to major BMS platforms, and basic PLC/SCADA knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience with BMS/Building Automation/Industrial Control Systems.
• Exposure to BMS platforms Schneider EcoStruxure, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Trend Controls.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and control systems.
• Experience with HVAC controls would be advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Valid driver’s license advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, commissioning, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Support the integration of HVAC, lighting, energy management, and access control systems.
• Perform fault-finding and troubleshooting on automation and control systems.
• Assist with PLC and controller programming modifications.
• Support BMS software configuration and system optimization.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Produce technical documentation, reports, and as-built drawings.
• Conduct site inspections and commissioning activities.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, and project teams during installations.
• Provide technical support and after-sales assistance when required.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
