Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking a Junior Azure Cloud Engineer to support deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure in a Microsoft Azure environment. The role targets candidates with practical Azure exposure and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, based in Gauteng, South Africa.

Responsibilities include deploying Azure services, monitoring health with Azure Monitor, investigating logs, and resolving issues on Linux and Windows platforms.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience required.
• Practical exposure to Microsoft Azure including VMs, storage, networking, Azure SQL, App Services, and Azure Monitor.
• Experience investigating application and system logs.
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, VPN, VNets, subnets).
• Basic scripting/automation with Azure CLI, Bash, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and support Azure infrastructure and services (VMs, storage, networking, Azure SQL, App Services).
• Monitor platform health and performance using Azure Monitor and related tools.
• Investigate logs to identify and resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot across cloud environments, Linux/Windows systems, and core networking components.
• Apply scripting/automation to day-to-day operations.
• Follow security fundamentals when configuring and supporting resources.
