Job summary

Execustaff Recruiting Services is seeking a production assembler support role in Johannesburg. You will assist in assembly tasks, align components, and help prepare parts and surfaces for welding. You will handle material prep, part verification, and basic grinding to ensure clean interfaces for assembly.

The role requires following safety procedures, operating basic tools, and maintaining tidy work areas while supporting a production team.

Responsibilities

• Assist assemblers with positioning and handling of structural components.
• Support layout and alignment activities during assembly tasks.
• Perform basic grinding and cleaning of parts prior to assembly.
• Assist with securing components during fit-up and preparation for welding.
• Identify and sort parts according to drawings or supervisor instructions.
• Verify part numbers, sizes, and orientation prior to assembly.
• Prepare surfaces to ensure clean interfaces for assembly work.
• Measure components using tapes, rulers, and gauges under supervision.
• Report measurement discrepancies or material defects to senior team members.
• Operate basic hand and power tools used during assembly tasks.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and perform pre-use inspections on tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembly Support: Assist assemblers with positioning and handling of structural components. Support layout and alignment activities during assembly tasks. Perform basic grinding and cleaning of parts prior to assembly. Assist with securing components during fit-up and preparation for welding.
• Material Preparation: Identify and sort parts according to drawings or supervisor instructions. Assist in verifying part numbers, sizes, and orientation prior to assembly. Prepare surfaces and components to ensure clean interfaces for assembly work.
• Measurement Assistance: Assist in measuring components using tapes, rulers, and gauges. Support layout verification and dimensional checks under supervision. Report measurement discrepancies or material defects to senior team members.
• Workshop Operations: Operate basic hand tools and power tools used during assembly tasks. Maintain clean and organised work areas in accordance with workshop standards. Perform pre-use inspections on tools and equipment.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and workshop rules. Maintain safe working practices during material handling and tool use. Immediately report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment.
