Placements24 is seeking a Junior Architect for its Durban, KwaZulu-Natal office to contribute to a major waterfront development. The role offers hands-on experience from concept design through construction oversight, working with senior architects and project managers.

The ideal candidate has a B.Arch or M.Arch, up to 3 years of experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Currently undergoing or recently completed articles/internship with SACAP.
• 0–3 years of experience in architectural practice.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a leading architectural firm known for its innovative and visually striking designs, is seeking a passionate and driven Junior Architect to contribute to exciting projects in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, particularly focusing on a major waterfront development. This role is based in our Durban office and offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all phases of the architectural process, from initial concept design to construction oversight. You will work closely with senior architects and project managers, developing your skills in design, documentation, and project coordination. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of architectural designs and concepts for various projects.
• Produce architectural drawings, plans, and 3D models using industry-standard software.
• Support the preparation of detailed construction documentation and specifications.
• Collaborate with senior architects, engineers, and consultants on design development.
• Participate in site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design intent.
• Help ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Requirements
