Job summary

Wine Estate near Somerset West, Western Cape, is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Intern to support the finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, data entry and routine financial administration.

The suitable candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, assist with basic reporting, and learn core accounting processes under mentorship from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently studying toward or a recent graduate with a diploma, degree, or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software (such as Pastel, Xero) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time management
• A willingness to learn
• High integrity when handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Capture daily financial transactions, vendor invoices, and receipts accurately into the accounting system.
• Assist with tracking incoming customer payments, allocating receipts, and processing supplier invoices.
• Help perform routine bank reconciliations and verify cash-up summaries or petty cash logs.
• Support the team with basic journal entries, filing, and gathering documents for month-end close or audits.
• Organize financial paperwork, maintain digital and physical filing systems, and assist the finance team with general office tasks.
