JUNIOR BOOKKEEPER (FINANCIAL SERVICES) - SOUTHERN SUBURBS, CPT

We're looking for a Junior Bookkeeper to join our team and play a key role in keeping our financial records accurate and up to date. From recording daily transactions and reconciling accounts to supporting reporting and managing invoices, you'll be hands-on with the numbers that keep the business moving.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a sharp eye for detail, a solid grasp of basic accounting principles, and a willingness to learn. You'll gain exposure across the full bookkeeping function, work with leading accounting software, and develop practical experience in a supportive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capture daily transactions (sales, purchases, expenses) accurately in accounting systems.
  • Maintain ledgers and manage accounts payable/receivable.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Keep financial records organised and up to date.
  • Provide general admin and support to the finance team.


Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 with strong mathematics results
  • A Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance (preferred).
  • Studying toward or completed a qualification such as ICB Bookkeeping, National Diploma in Accounting, or BCom Accounting is an advantage.
  • 1-2 years' bookkeeping or accounting experience (internship or junior role) is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid grasp of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficient with accounting software and Excel (Pastel experience a plus).
  • Confident communicator and team player.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to resolve discrepancies.
