Job summary

Sydsen is seeking an experienced Joinery Department Manager to lead a high-volume timber manufacturing department within a specialist shopfitting environment. You will oversee production output, quality, workflow, labour performance and on-time delivery, supervising about 3 Production Supervisors and 40 bench hands.

The role is permanent and on-site in South Africa, with a monthly salary between 45,000 and 60,000 ZAR CTC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in joinery, cabinetmaking, shopfitting or timber manufacturing.
• Proven experience managing supervisors and sizeable production teams.
• Strong ability to read CAD drawings, technical specifications and cutting instructions.
• Hands-on knowledge of MDF, chipboard, melamine, laminates, solid surface, glass, Perspex, Duco/2K and related materials.
• Strong quality-control capabilities.
• Experience with production planning and bottleneck resolution.
• Trade-tested Cabinetmaker / Joiner / Master Craftsman advantageous.
• Retail fixture experience highly advantageous.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends when required.
