Job summary

Discovery Bank is seeking an IT Change and Release Management Analyst Intern to learn how to formulate, position and coordinate IT Change and Release Management functions in line with industry best practices.

You will help ensure high availability and communicate changes to stakeholders, assisting governance bodies and supporting controlled software releases and CMDB updates throughout the release lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology is required.
• ITIL Foundation v4 certificate (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Manage the Change Management process to ensure new IT services and changes are introduced without disruption
• Assess the impact and risks of ICT changes on normal business operations
• Communicate effectively about changes to inform stakeholders of their reasons, benefits, and details
• Establish and provide secretariat duties to the Change Advisory Boards
• Develop and maintain the Release Management process to ensure controlled software releases
• Ensure all releases meet defined readiness criteria prior to implementation
• Coordinate documentation and implementation activities of all release requests
• Communicate and manage customer expectations during release planning and rollout
• Secure master copies of software in the Definitive Media Library (DML) and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

This role is vital in ensuring high levels of availability and stability of the business systems and infrastructure at Discovery Bank. The ideal candidate will work to introduce IT services and changes in a controlled manner while effectively communicating changes and their impacts to stakeholders.
