Job summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) invites ambitious students to join as Graduate Trainee – Consulting & Data Analytics in Johannesburg, South Africa. This internship runs for 3 months (June–August 2026) with potential to move into a full-time role by January 2027.

• Strong academic record and arithmetic/financial analysis skills.
• Excellent MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and conduct research using internal and external sources.
• Perform data analysis to develop insights supporting recommendations.
• Create deliverables including slides and Excel models for client presentations.
• Support project team in hypothesis development and presenting recommendations.

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is the payments consulting arm of Visa, focused on serving Visa’s clients and partners. We are a global team of ~600 consultants and data scientists. We offer consulting and analytics services across different areas of interest to our clients including strategy, product, portfolio management, risk, digital and more.Within VCA, we have a dedicated Data Science team who are experts in statistics, advanced analytics and machine learning with exclusive access to insights from VisaNet, one of the largest payment networks in the world. The majority of our team members are generalists and get exposure to all the topics we offer and all the countries we cover.

Responsibilities

• Collecting required data and conducting researchConducting data analysis using internal and external data sourcesDeveloping insights from the data analyses to support the recommendations development processDeveloping project deliverables including slides, excel models, etc
• Supporting the project team members in developing hypotheses, contributing to conclusions and assisting other senior team members in presenting back to the clientSupporting the team in presenting the recommendations to the client

Qualifications

• Current student working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree, with a graduation date of December 2026
