Job summary

espAfrika is seeking a hands-on Music Community and Development Coordinator in Cape Town to drive community programs, masterclasses, and festival activities. You will support grant funding, coordinate logistics, and manage outreach partnerships with schools, NGOs, and cultural bodies.

You will oversee the CTIJF Jazz Orchestra, handle artist liaison, and ensure smooth on-site execution across events, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships in the South African music development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level qualification in arts or culture management, event management, or related field.
• Strong grant writing, reporting, and compliance experience.
• Proven project coordination within live music or arts settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Hands-on event logistics and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• CTIJF Jazz Orchestra administration, contracts, rehearsals, and venues logistics.
• Plan and run CTIJF Masterclasses and workshops with facilitators and participants.
• Manage registration, communications, and attendance tracking for students and attendees.
• Assist with grant applications to NAC, DSAC, and other funders; monitor deliverables and reporting.
• Coordinate outreach initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and on-site festival activities.
