Job summary

Entelect is seeking a Java Team Lead to guide delivery of web and mobile applications for South Africa's top organisations. You will drive DevOps improvements, mentor engineers, and lead cross-functional teams through design, estimation and delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering and at least 6 years’ software engineering experience in an enterprise setting, with strong collaboration and customer-facing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 6 years' experience as a software engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Experience leading a delivery team and driving product delivery.
• Strong mentorship, guidance, and leadership mindset.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and clean code practices.
• Mastery of multiple technologies with adaptability to new frameworks.
• Ability to architect and structure small projects in an enterprise setting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; customer-facing ability.
• Comfort with hybrid working model (office 2–3 days per week).

Responsibilities

• Guide and deliver world-class web and mobile applications for leading SA organisations.
• Enhance product quality through containerisation and CI/CD to foster DevOps culture.
• Engage in SDLC stages from design to estimation and scoping.
• Mentor team members and conduct regular feedback via one-on-ones and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer needs and ensure compliance.
