Job summary

Salix Recruitment is seeking an IT System Administrator / Software Developer to join its IT team in Durban. The role blends systems administration with software development, automation, and digital transformation, offering exposure to Microsoft technologies and AI initiatives.

The successful candidate will maintain and secure IT systems, develop Power Platform solutions, administer SharePoint and support DX programs, AI initiatives and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Accredited qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years in Systems Administration.
• Minimum 2 years with Microsoft SharePoint.
• Minimum 2 years with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Experience in software development and systems integration.
• Experience in Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience in project management and/or digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, applications and system tools.
• Design and develop SharePoint solutions.
• Develop business solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
• Support software development and systems integration.
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 environment.
• Maintain system security, backups and redundancy strategies.
• Apply patches and security measures to minimise vulnerabilities.
• Research emerging technologies and make vendor recommendations.
• Participate in IT projects and report progress to IT Manager.
• Support digital transformation initiatives and AI technologies.
