Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• 2-4 years of IT support or system administration with a security focus.
• Proficiency with firewalls, IDS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with Windows and Linux security.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain security hardware and software (firewalls, VPNs, antivirus).
• Monitor network and system activity for breaches and policy violations.
• Respond to security alerts and incidents; perform initial investigation and remediation.
• Manage user access controls and permissions to protect data confidentiality and integrity.
• Perform regular vulnerability scans and assist patching/updating systems.
• Assist in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support to end-users on security-related issues.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled IT Security Administrator to join their operations team in Paarl . This role is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the company's security infrastructure. You will implement security measures, monitor systems for threats, and respond to security incidents to ensure the protection of IT assets and data. This is a hands-on position for an individual dedicated to maintaining a secure and stable IT environment within the scenic region of Paarl , working on-site to manage critical security systems.

Key Responsibilities
