Job summary

Ilembe District Municipality is seeking an ICT Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination and reporting of ICT projects, applying sound project management methodologies.

The role requires ensuring governance alignment with organizational objectives, developing detailed project plans, coordinating stakeholders and resources, and maintaining thorough documentation and communication with the ICT Manager. Strong emphasis on project administration and reporting is expected.

• Managing, coordinating, advisory and reporting on ICT projects using sound ICT Project Management Methodology.
• Complying with project governance requirements aligned to organizational objectives.
• Planning and executing ICT projects with business and stakeholders to define requirements and design technology solutions.
• Developing full-scale project plans and communications documents; maintaining a work breakdown structure.
• Managing stakeholder relationships, setting expectations and coordinating resources and teams.
• Ensuring proper project administration and documentation, and producing reports for ICT Manager review.

Job description

• This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, advisory and reporting on ICT projects or those projects with a technology component requiring the application of sound ICT Project Management Methodology.
• Manages project resources and outputs for efficient delivery and sustainability ensuring continued business justification.
• Complying with project governance requirements that is aligned to the project and our organizational objectives.
• Ensure efficient planning and execution of ICT projects through, working closely with the business and other stakeholders to understand their requirements,
• by coordinating various stakeholder efforts to designing the most appropriate technology solution and to select the most appropriate parties to deliver the technical elements of the programme.
• Directing and coordinate project development from beginning to end. Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Clarify and confirmed in a work breakdown structure (WBS)/ stage plan
• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Ensure stakeholder and resource coordination through effective relationship and communication management by
• Ensure proper project administration by, adhering to project administrative requirements to ensure information on relevant matters are made available and is communicated through the various mediums.
• Writing reports and submits reports to the ICT Manager for review.
• Writing letters and memoranda as necessary.
• Provide as and when required administrative and ICT support to the ICT Section by
• Supporting the ICT Section Heads in evaluating and recommending ICT solutions which meet business and end-user needs and requirements
• Providing guidance concerning the business implications of the application of information technology systems.
• Project quality standards are of the highest level by ensuring professional record keeping
• Ensuring that project team members adhere to the agreed upon methodologies, processes, standards and policies.
