An alternative asset management firm specializing in private equity, private debt, and other investment strategies, is currently seeking an IT Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for our third‑party IT service provider, managing their performance and ensuring desktop support and other requirements are met.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, architecture, desktop support, and network performance.
- Manage IT risks, including cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain IT governance frameworks, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity plans.
- Monitor IT spend, procurement, and software licenses.
- Lead and manage various ongoing projects to enhance company‑wide efficiency and digitalization. Current projects include:
- Designing and configuring a new SQL database for private markets.
- Building a new Investor Portal for clients.
- Collaborate with various teams (Distribution, Investment, and Central Operations) to identify and execute future projects.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks (e.g., POPIA, GDPR, FICA, FATCA).
- Develop, review, and update IT and compliance policies.
- Conduct audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
- Stay up‑to‑date on regulatory changes and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Manage the internal compliance calendar for regulatory submissions.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Law. Strong academic results are preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in IT operations, compliance, or a similar role within the financial services sector.
- Knowledge: In‑depth knowledge of IT risk, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in asset management, a strong financial background, and commercial understanding.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex initiatives.
- Other Skills: Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Must be a fast learner with the ability to research legal acts and implement action outcomes.
