Job summary

Headhunters is seeking a Senior Manager of IT Operations and Infrastructure in Gauteng, Roodepoort. The role leads enterprise IT operations, network, server, cloud, and identity systems, while driving cybersecurity, DR, and governance across the group.

Ideal candidate has 8–10+ years in IT operations with at least 5 years in senior leadership, a CS/IT degree, and an NQF level 7. The position is monthly salary with none-negotiable package, based in Roodepoort.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years' experience in IT Operations and Infrastructure.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership or management role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• NQF Level 7 qualification.
• Experience in regulated environments advantageous (financial services, insurance, etc.).
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale IT operations and governance.
• Expertise in network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with Microsoft server environments and Linux server administration.
• Proficiency in Active Directory/LDAP and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Telephony platforms (FreePBX/Asterisk) and monitoring tools (Zabbix, SolarWinds, ManageEngine).
• Backup, Disaster Recovery, SIEM and DLP implementations.

Responsibilities

• Own performance, availability, reliability, and continuous improvement of the Group's IT environment.
• Manage and optimise network, server, cloud, IAM, and telephony systems.
• Ensure operational scalability, stability, and efficiency across platforms.
• Lead cybersecurity operations including SIEM, DLP, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal governance adherence.
• Oversee monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident management; drive root cause analysis.
• Own backup strategies, DR planning, testing, and business continuity processes.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing IT team; manage stakeholder relationships.

Monitoring, Performance and Incident Management

• Implement and oversee monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive action planning.
• Foster a proactive approach to service reliability and operational excellence.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

• Own backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity processes.
• Ensure high availability architectures and effective failover capabilities are in place.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team.
• Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, vendors, and external stakeholders.
