Job summary

Headhunters is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and support servers, virtualization, networking and backup systems across multiple sites. You will administer MikroTik routers and firewalls, manage Windows Server environments and Active Directory, and provision and migrate VMs using Hyper-V or VMware.

The role requires hands-on expertise in infrastructure design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, with a focus on stability, security and data recovery.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years in IT infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience across servers, virtualization, networking and backup/recovery.
• Strong MikroTik router and firewall administration.
• Solid Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
• Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware, including VM provisioning and migrations.
• Practical experience with backup, recovery and infrastructure migrations.
• Ability to design, build, configure, implement and support infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience assisting multi-site environments is advantageous.
• Candidates with Cisco/Fortinet/Ubiquiti may transition to MikroTik.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute infrastructure migrations with minimal business disruption.
• Troubleshoot complex server, network, virtualization and infrastructure issues.
• Provide hands-on technical support and infrastructure ownership across the organisation.
• Assist with infrastructure projects and implementations.
• Lead and support IT team while remaining actively involved in technical delivery.
• Ensure infrastructure is stable, secure, resilient and maintained.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes and solutions.

Requirements

• Current, hands-on experience across servers, virtualisation, networking and backup/recovery.
• Strong MikroTik router and firewall administration experience.
• Solid Windows Server and Active Directory administration.

• Practical experience with backup, recovery and infrastructure migrations.
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, configure, implement and support infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting multi-site environments is highly advantageous.
• Ability to take ownership and provide technical leadership within a small IT team.
• Candidates with Cisco, Fortinet or Ubiquiti experience may be considered where they can realistically transition to MikroTik.
• Relevant IT qualifications and certifications such as Microsoft, Network+ or Security+ are advantageous but not essential.
• Must be currently hands‑on with infrastructure technologies and not reliant primarily on historical experience.
