Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd seeks to appoint an IT and CAT Teacher (FET Phase) (full-time) at Grantleigh in Mbonambi to commence duties in January 2027. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum for the FET phase, focusing on knowledge transfer, skills development and positive learner attitudes.

Preference will be given to EE candidates; the school emphasises an ethical, values-based environment and learner-centric curricula.

Qualifications

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education, with an honours degree in education (in the relevant subject/s) advantageous
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum for the FET phase
• Plan lessons using modern-day tools and processes; set up workbooks; measure academic improvement
• Set up, implement, monitor and adjust term plans; differentiate learning materials
• Create baseline assessments and advise on subject choices and remedial work
• Plan and manage classroom, assessments, homework, and moderation
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings
• Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons
