RAC Human Capital is recruiting an IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT environment, users and infrastructure from Somerset West, South Africa. The role covers systems administration, 365 management, Intune, security, backups and governance.

The successful candidate will ensure system stability, availability and compliance, perform troubleshooting, and collaborate with IT and operations while supporting night shifts aligned with US/Australia hours.

Qualificações

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Relevant IT qualification in IT, CS, Systems Admin or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' IT support, systems admin or infrastructure experience.
• Experience in Networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi‑Fi).
• Proven Systems Admin experience in Windows desktop and server environments.
• Experience in PCI DSS compliant environments or supporting PCI compliance.

IT Systems Administrator

RAC Human Capital is seeking a reliable, technically skilled and service-oriented IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain our technology environment, systems, users and infrastructure.

Location: Somerset West, South Africa
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Night shift, aligned with United States and Australian operating hours
Remuneration: R20 000 per month, inclusive of night shift allowance
Weekend Standby Allowance: Applicable for approved weekend standby duties

Reports To: Senior Management / IT Manager

About the Role

The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, availability and efficiency of RAC Human Capital's IT systems. The successful candidate will support end users, administer Microsoft 365 and related platforms, maintain hardware and software environments, troubleshoot technical issues, monitor system performance, and assist with IT governance, cybersecurity, backups and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support company IT systems, servers, networks, endpoints and business applications.
• Provide first-line and second-line support to users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network, email and access-related issues.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, user accounts, mailboxes, permissions, groups and access controls.
• Administer and support Microsoft Intune (MDM) for endpoint management, device compliance, application deployment and security policies.
• Support Active Directory or cloud identity administration, including onboarding, offboarding and password/access management.
• Install, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, telephony and approved software.
• Monitor system performance, uptime, storage, backups and security alerts, escalating issues where required.
• Ensure devices and systems remain updated with approved patches, antivirus protection and security configurations.
• Support and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, switches and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Assist in maintaining PCI DSS compliance, ensuring systems and processes meet security and compliance requirements.
• Maintain IT asset registers, licence records, support logs, technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Support data backup, recovery testing, disaster recovery readiness and business continuity activities.
• Assist with vendor liaison, procurement support, IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote compliance with RAC Human Capital's IT policies, data protection requirements and cybersecurity standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Reside in the Helderberg area – This is non-negotiable.
• Matric / Grade 12.
• Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in IT support, systems administration or infrastructure support.
• Demonstrated experience in Networking, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and Wi‑Fi environments.
• Proven Systems Administration experience in Windows desktop and server environments.
• Experience working in a PCI DSS compliant environment or supporting PCI compliance requirements.
• Hands‑on experience administering Microsoft Intune (MDM) for device management and endpoint security.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows desktop and server environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and user access management.
• Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, Wi‑Fi and general networking principles.
• Experience with endpoint support, hardware troubleshooting, software installation and remote support tools.
• Knowledge of backups, patch management, antivirus tools and cybersecurity best practices.
• Ability to document incidents, resolutions, processes and technical changes clearly.

Advantageous

• Experience with virtualization, Azure, cloud platforms or IT ticketing systems.
• Experience in a call centre, outsourcing, BPO or multi-shift operational environment.
• Valid driver's licence.
