Job summary

Platform45 is seeking a High Intermediate iOS Engineer in Cape Town. You will independently develop, test, and maintain iOS apps, contribute to architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You’ll mentor juniors, stay ahead of trends, and own end-to-end feature delivery.

The role requires 4–6 years of iOS experience, strong Swift and Objective-C skills, and deep knowledge of iOS frameworks. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or proven self-taught development skills with strong systems understanding.
• 4–6 years of iOS app development experience with App Store delivery.
• Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C.
• Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK, Xcode, and Apple design guidelines.
• Experience with SwiftUI, Combine, and Swift Concurrency.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and proper auth flows.
• Strong Git and collaborative workflows.
• Experience with iOS frameworks like Core Data, Core Animation, Core Location.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, enhance, and maintain iOS apps from design through release.
• Contribute to scalable software architecture with senior engineers.
• Review code and uphold quality, performance, and standards.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure compatibility across devices.
• Create and maintain technical docs and design specs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Stay updated on industry trends and drive process improvements.
• Own feature delivery end-to-end and communicate progress and risks to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
