Job summary

Ninety One is seeking a dedicated Investment Operations professional in Cape Town to oversee cash and stock reconciliations performed by our external service provider SSBT. You will manage break investigations, timelines and communications with internal and external stakeholders to maintain accuracy and control across client assets.

The role requires a strong operational background in asset management, risk awareness and data management, with the optional benefit of experience using AI platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field (e.g. BCom/BBusSci) or equivalent experience.
• Experience liaising with colleagues at all levels across the business.
• Strong understanding of asset management operational processes.
• Ability to identify reputational and financial risk.
• Experience with data management and reporting.
• Experience using AI platforms to improve efficiency is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cash and stock reconciliations and ensure breaks are identified and escalated.
• Own resolution timelines and drive prompt clearance according to service standards.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to inform and enable action on reconciliation breaks.
• Engage with external stakeholders to build relationships and improve efficiencies.
• Collaborate with SSBT to query, challenge and resolve discrepancies with audit trails.
• Escalate unresolved or high‑risk breaks to senior stakeholders and flag potential risk.
• Maintain up‑to‑date procedures documentation for the reconciliation oversight process.
